Cardboard Capers

Kenmore Park Kindy and QUT design students came together again this year to create, build and play with recycled cardboard as part of the Cardboard Capers collaboration with QUT design students. The program supports the kindy’s strong philosophy of reduce, reuse and recycle and the children had a blast letting their imaginations run wild.

Check out more about cardboard capers at https://tedxmelbourne.com/cardboard-capers/

This year’s event was inspired by the short film ‘Caine’s Arcade’ and the Global Cardboard Challenge which is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates children’s creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. Children of all ages were invited to build anything they could dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination.

Kenmore Park Kindergarten for 3-5 year olds
Great article on music. Does anyone have some feedback on this. I thought it was great to be reminded of all the language benefits music holds for children. I know it’s k-2 , but many of the concepts translate to our setting and even 3 year old.Young children may ask for the same song to be repeated over and over again. Have you ever stopped to consider how these experiences are contributing to children's language development? Read more about this in David Wassink's article: www.alea.edu.au/documents/item/1004 ...
